The 2023 Ohio Natural History Conference highlights the physiographic region of southwest Ohio. The 2021 Ohio Natural History Conference is the first virtual conference in the history of the Ohio Biological Survey. The focus of the conference is on how technology expands our ability to track Ohio’s biodiversity remotely and even beyond our borders. The keynote speaker is Dr. Gene Kritsky, the Dean of Behavioral and Natural Sciences at Mount St. Joseph University who presents on the “Hunt for Brook X: Cicada Safari”.

The 2020 Ohio Natural History Conference continues the physiographic tour of Ohio. Occurring every 2 years, this tour is focused in North Western Ohio at the Glaciated Lake Plain. Director Mary Mertz of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources gives the keynote speech for 2020. Furthermore, a variety of tours that celebrate biodiversity in the Glaciated Lake Plain will commence out of Toledo.

The 2019 Ohio Natural History Conference centered at the Ohio History Center in Columbus, Ohio, is focused on the periodic use and misuse of Ohio’s water bodies from Lake Eerie to the countless rivers and streams within the state. Focused on the theme of Ohio’s Aquatic Systems: Historical Tragedies and Tales of Recovery, speakers tell the history of Ohio’s waters and what the future may hold.
