Jim Kooser

Jim Kooser started his career as a plant community/ecosystem ecologist with DNAP’s Natural Heritage Program. In 1989 he left the state to begin work as an ecological consultant, focusing on wetland and stream delineation, functional assessment and permitting. He’s worked for a variety of consulting firms in Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio. Jim conducted research on wetland plant communities and aquatic insects around the country, and served as Vice Chair of Pennsylvania’s Wetland Protection Advisory Committee. He is also an active musician in the Cleveland/Kent and Akron areas.
